Local Testing

Our large, data-driven breeding program helps you get the most out of each one. We thoroughly evaluate products based on the latest science and use extensive field testing to help increase yield potential and minimize risk.

    Broad Germplasm

It all starts with plant breeding. Germplasm is the building block for better products. When beginning the breeding process, we start with a large genetic pool of possible products, narrow them down in less time, and test more high-potential top performers in fields like yours.

    Pre-Commercial Testing

In this phase, we begin selecting the products to undergo local testing. We use local breeding and technology development plots to understand early product potential and determine which products perform best under differing agronomic conditions.

    Local Testing

With assistance from our Rea Hybrids technical agronomists, we select a handful of products to test in local Fontanelle Hybrids trials. Before a product is brought to market, we test and monitor it across hundreds of field scenarios in your local area.

Adding to the Rea Hybrids® Product Lineup

After local testing, our technical agronomists select the products that performed the best across the area we serve. These products are introduced each year into our product lineup.

We Know What It Takes in the North

“We Know The North!” isn’t just something we say for fun — although it is fun to say. We call the North home, and we’re in this business to help our neighbors. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing you with products that help solve not just any problem, but northern problems. Our Technical Agronomists have the expertise you can rely on to flourish in our shorter growing season and unique environments. See where we test our carefully tested and selected products, so we can help you continue to thrive.

"I’ve been planting Rea Hybrids™ for three years, and I like the local connection they bring me. I appreciate the local support, especially from their DSMs and agronomists."
