Rea Hybrids was founded in 1970 by Wendell Rea near Bath, South Dakota. Wendell’s son, Charlie, joined the business during the spring of 1976 — immediately prior to one of the worst droughts in history. Over the years, the two succeeded and prospered by focusing on what matters most: the needs of farmers in the North. We serve our farmers by working alongside them to understand what seed products work best in their fields, and provide specific recommendations that fit the local environment. Because that environment isn’t just our farmers’ fields — it’s our home, too.
